We have summarized the intraoperative precautions related to laser myopia correction surgery, as detailed below, please read and follow carefully. 1, first of all, the laser surgery does not hurt. However, it is not without feeling, like poking the back of your hand with your finger, there is the feeling of contact, but no pain. 2, no injection. The anesthesia is local anesthesia, and eye drops can be ordered. 3, the operation must be open, not allowed to close the eyes, but can blink. 4, surgery steps: The first step, the production of corneal flap or corneal epithelial flap. The second step, laser cutting. The third step, flushing the corneal surface, corneal flap reset. During the above process, especially the laser cutting, eyes should always look at the green gaze light (flashing) directly above the eyes, sometimes it is not clear, please do not panic, just look in the direction of the green light. When the flap is being made, the negative corneal pressure ring will temporarily attract the eye and there will be a very short period of time when the eye cannot see anything and there will be a loud noise. The laser starts to fire and the doctor will again remind the eye to look at the green light. To ensure the accuracy of the laser cutting, the laser comes with an infrared eye tracking system, so slight eye movements do not affect the treatment results. However, large angle eye movement, the laser will be tentatively fired. 5, odor and noise. The odor of burnt tissue and the “squeaking” sound of the laser may accompany the laser cutting, which is normal. 6, the day after the surgery: LASIK and SBK do not require medication after surgery, only a rigid eye shield. When you blink your eyes within 8 hours after the surgery, you may have symptoms such as foreign body sensation, tearing and photophobia, which are normal reactions. Please go home to rest promptly after surgery, and the discomfort will be significantly reduced after 6-8 hours after surgery. However, because of individual differences, the symptoms of discomfort may vary in severity. Do not remove the eye shield by yourself and wear it when you sleep on the same day for the purpose of eye protection. Post-operative eye tearing, foreign body sensation and photophobia can be more obvious when compared with LASIK and SBK. 7. The day after surgery, be sure to follow up at the hospital or follow the doctor’s instructions. Check your visual acuity, corneal healing, optometry and corneal healing if necessary.
