Can thyroid cancer be treated without surgery?

It depends on the specific case. Thyroid cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs on the thyroid gland. Thyroid cancer is generally classified into differentiated thyroid cancer, hypofractionated thyroid cancer and undifferentiated thyroid cancer. In general, thyroid cancer requires surgical treatment because surgery allows complete excision and eradication of multiple lesions as well as regional lymph nodes with desired results. For smaller tumors, it has also been suggested that they can be closely monitored.
