How long does hematuria last after urethral dilatation

It is not possible to generalize how long bloody urine will last after urethral dilatation, but under normal circumstances, it can last from 1 to 3 days.
Urethral dilatation refers to the treatment of urethral stricture by entering the urethra through a urethral probe and gradually enlarging it from a small size to a large size to dilate the urethra.
Because the urethral probe will damage the urethral mucosa, urethral spongiosum, or cause urethral tear, therefore, the patient will experience bleeding after the operation, the bleeding will last about 1~3 days, but the bleeding is small, if there is a large amount of bleeding, the patient should go to the hospital immediately.
Urethral stenosis is suitable for patients with urethral stone, mild bladder neck obstruction, chronic prostatitis, etc. However, it should be noted that urethral dilatation is not suitable for people with acute inflammatory infection of the urinary tract, injury to the urethra, or suspicion of urethra tumor.
After urethral dilatation, patients should follow the doctor’s instructions for medication, and closely observe their own condition, if there is any abnormality, they should consult the doctor in time.
