What’s wrong with an itchy mole?

Moles itch for both physiological and pathological reasons, and should be analyzed specifically. Moles can occasionally itch in physiologic conditions, which is normal. Pathological causes may be related to skin allergies near the mole or malignant changes in the mole itself.
1. Physiological causes: moles usually have no conscious symptoms and occasionally itch, if there is no obvious change in the shape, color and size of the mole, usually no special treatment is needed and observation is sufficient.
2. Skin allergy: Skin allergy around the mole will cause local itching, but usually has nothing to do with the mole itself.
3. Malignant transformation: malignant transformation of mole will also cause itchy mole, deepen the color of mole in a short time, break and bleed, etc. If you suspect malignant transformation of mole, you should go to the hospital in time, and have it surgically removed and complete pathological examination if necessary.
If a patient has an itchy mole, he/she can observe it for a while, and if it only happens occasionally, he/she doesn’t need to worry about it. However, if it persists for a long time or occurs repeatedly, it is necessary to go to the dermatology department of the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s advice to carry out the corresponding treatment.
