Wrinkle reduction by toxin injection
1.History
In 1992, Carruthers and others in the United States were the first to apply *Toxin to the removal of facial wrinkles.
2.Mechanism of action
Toxin is a neurotoxin, which can block the release of acetylcholine (acetylcholine) after local injection, thus blocking the conduction of nerves to muscles, causing muscle paralysis.
3.Caution
Patients should stop using aspirin and aspirin-like drugs 14 days before the injection.
Stop using cosmetics on the day of injection.
Do not massage the local area after injection, vaccine toxin spread.
4.Indications
It mainly treats early wrinkles and is suitable for women under 30-35 years old, especially for forehead lines (head-lift lines), inter-brow lines and crow’s feet around the eyes on the half of the face. It can also be used for wrinkles on the chin and front neck below the face.
5.Contraindication
Pregnant and lactating women.
Women with neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, etc.
Suffering from ptosis.
Patients taking aminoglycoside antibiotics.
Patients who are very thin and weak.
Patients who are allergic to albumin or to toxin of toxin bacillus.
Patients with severe heart, liver, kidney and lung diseases and connective tissue diseases.
6.Efficacy of treatment
Usually, wrinkles will slowly stretch and disappear, and the skin will be flattened after an average of 10 days from 3 to 14 days after the injection of *Toxin. The effect of wrinkle reduction is maintained for an average of 3 months-6 months, with an average of 4 months, and usually 3-4 injections are required in a year. The best effect is for crow’s feet, and the effect for head-lift lines is slightly worse.
7.Complications and side effects
There is headache in the injection area, and a few female patients have headache.
Drooping of the eyelid can occur when the headline is not injected properly.
Diplopia can occur when the crow’s feet are not injected properly.
Asymmetric results may occur due to inaccurate injection dosage, more on one side and less on the other.
Bleeding or hematoma occasionally occurs when the needle pierces a blood vessel.
Botulinum toxin is an immunogenic protein that can cause the body to produce antibodies. Large doses and repeated injections may cause immune complex reaction disease and should be noted.
As a result of muscle paralysis, various expressions cannot be made and there is a false mask-like sensation.
Anaphylactic shock may occur in a very small number of patients.
8.Safety
The injection of toxin is very safe, its semi-lethal dose (ID50%) for human is 40U/kg, and the semi-lethal dose for a patient weighing 79kg is 2500U-3000U. The dose for cosmetic wrinkle removal is only 0.1ml-1ml of liquid 5-50U. -So the injection of *Toxin is very safe, no hospitalization, no anesthesia, no incision, and no interruption of work.
9.Conclusion
Toxin toxin injection wrinkle removal method is both safe, efficacious, and fast, convenient and simple, with little patient pain.
