Can you get AIDS from cleaning your teeth?

You can’t get HIV from scaling, mainly because the tools used to clean your teeth are relatively clean. Scaling can cause small cuts and bleeding on the gums, and if the tools are not clean, or even contaminated with HIV, it is possible that the person who scaled the teeth could get AIDS through these small cuts. It is possible that through these small wounds, the person who has his teeth cleaned may get AIDS. However, the tools must be contaminated with HIV in a certain amount for this to happen. This is usually the case when the instruments are not sterilized and are used back and forth from person to person. Scaling tools are properly sterilized, unless they are not done properly. Therefore, if you have your teeth cleaned in a regular hospital or dental clinic, you don’t have to worry about getting infected with HIV.
