What to do if your newborn has a fever

  Generally, a fever is defined as an axillary temperature above 37.2°C or an anal temperature above 37.8°C in newborns. The fever is accompanied by symptoms such as irritability and lack of energy. Some newborns also have irregular breathing and or shortness of breath. Parents should not be too confused when it comes to fever in newborns to avoid making mistakes in panic.  First, we can give the child physical cooling. A wet towel can be applied to the forehead, or a small amount of white wine can be used to wipe the palms of the baby’s hands and feet.
