Premature ejaculation causes depression and anxiety in women, and even leads to divorce.

A 2014 study from Switzerland reported on the effects of premature ejaculation on the sexual and psychological state of women in Mexico, South Korea, and Italy. The results found that premature ejaculation can cause depression and anxiety in women and even lead to divorce. The incidence of depression and anxiety among women with premature ejaculation in the three countries was 14%-42% and 11%-35%, respectively; and it led to about 14%-20% of separations or divorces. Women in all three countries believe that controlling ejaculation is important and are troubled by the lack of control over ejaculation by their male partners. Mexican and Italian women cited short penile penetration time as the main cause of distress, while Korean women were relatively less concerned about premature ejaculation. Italian women had the lowest probability of divorce due to premature ejaculation, but were less satisfied with their spouse than in the other two countries. The ideal penile penetration time for South Korean women is shorter than that of Italian and Mexican women, and the researchers mention in the paper that Italian and Mexican women need longer penile penetration time for orgasm, while Korean women need it to “create intimacy.
