Although microvascular decompression (MVD) surgery is the treatment of choice for facial myasthenia, not all patients are suitable for this high-risk surgical treatment. A comprehensive assessment of the patient’s condition is required if a scientific and reasonable choice of treatment for facial myasthenia can be made. The “cause” of facial spasm is the “short circuit” between the facial nerve fibers and the abnormal excitation of the facial nerve nucleus due to the compression of the facial nerve roots by the surrounding blood vessels, so “the only way to treat this cause” is “the only way to treat this cause”. The only treatment for this cause is “microvascular decompression of the affected facial nerve root”, and the cure rate of the surgery is highly dependent on the surgical experience of the treating surgeon. However, this surgery is a “cranial surgery” and needs to be performed under “general anesthesia”, which requires a good health condition of the patient. 2. If the patient is unwilling to undergo cranial surgery, or is not suitable for “general anesthesia” for reasons such as poor health conditions or advanced age, it is recommended that he or she receive repeated “botulinum toxin local injection” treatment at the Department of Neurology. 3, because of the poor long-term effect of various Chinese and Western drugs on “facial spasm”, it is not recommended to apply.
