Most temporal depressions are caused by congenital craniofacial hypoplasia, and more patients have bilateral depressions, which are characterized by a narrow frontal transverse diameter and a “pear-shaped” face. Some patients have unilateral temporal depression due to hemifacial hypoplasia, progressive unilateral facial atrophy and trauma. These patients often have soft tissue or other facial bone morphological defects or deformities, and generally patients seek consultation because of the impact on appearance. As the face ages, the nasolabial folds gradually deepen and many people feel that the obvious nasolabial folds also affect the aesthetic appearance. The autologous fat filling method is less traumatic, easy to obtain materials, simple and safe to operate, and can achieve both weight loss and cosmetic purposes, so it is more easily accepted by patients. However, the fat filled with autologous fat may be absorbed to varying degrees, with the absorption rate reaching 40% to 50%, and multiple fillings are often required. There are many factors affecting the viability of the implanted fat, and in clinical operation, the following aspects should be noted: ( 1) Minimize damage when taking granulated fat, reduce cell deformation and rupture. ( 2) Removal of blood and free fatty acids from the graft to facilitate the nutrition of the graft. ( 3) The recipient area is injected by tunneling, so that there is still tissue in the center of the recipient area connected to the upper and lower part of the recipient area, which expands the contact surface between the graft and the recipient area, thus making it easier to obtain nutrition and improving the survival rate. ( 4) The same diameter needle is used for aspiration and injection to reduce the damage to the fat tissue. ( 5) Because of the varying degrees of absorption of the transplanted adipose tissue, the recipient area should be appropriately overfilled, usually by 20% to 30% of the basic volume. Skillful mastery of the above techniques can significantly improve the poor appearance of temporal hollows, deepening of nasolabial folds, etc. Lip injections can also make the lips full and sexy.
