Is the limited stage of small cell lung cancer advanced?

The limited stage of small cell lung cancer is generally not advanced lung cancer, but belongs to the early and middle stage of lung cancer.

In general, small cell lung cancer does not adopt TNM staging in clinical practice, but is classified into limited stage and extensive stage according to the standard of International Lung Cancer Association. Patients with limited stage have lesions confined to one side of the chest cavity or metastatic lymph nodes are confined to the hilum, mediastinum, supraclavicular area and other parts of the affected side, and there is no distant metastasis, so they do not belong to the advanced stage.

For the treatment of limited stage small cell lung cancer, if the patient’s physical condition permits, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are usually chosen as the simultaneous treatment measures, and if the physical condition is poor, radical radiotherapy can be considered to control the disease development.
