Second-degree AV block is not an absolute contraindication to invasive testing, and the risk of these invasive tests is relatively low for second-degree type I AV block; for second-degree type II AV block, a specialist assessment is required. When a larger procedure is performed, it is possible to have a consultation with a cardiologist for evaluation and, if necessary, a temporary pacemaker backup, among other measures, is possible with general anaesthesia.
