Adenomyosis is a common gynecological condition in which the endometrial glands and mesenchyme invade the myometrium to form diffuse or restricted lesions. It often leads to symptoms such as secondary dysmenorrhea and increased menstrual flow, thus seriously affecting women’s physical and mental health. There are many treatment options available, and treatment is often individualized according to the patient’s age and fertility needs. Adenomyosis used to occur in menstruating women over 40 years of age, but in recent years there has been a trend towards a younger age, which may be related to the increase in procedures such as cesarean sections and abortions.
