The nodules of cirrhosis are regenerated nodules surrounded by fibrous tissue causing extensive destruction of liver structure. The nodules of cirrhosis may appear to have some hypoechogenicity under ultrasound, in which case further improvement of examination is needed to exclude, because the nodules of cirrhosis also need to be differentiated from liver cancer. If the nodules of cirrhosis gradually increase in size combined with elevated alpha-fetoprotein, the possibility of primary hepatocellular carcinoma or malignant tumor must be considered, and further enhancement CT or MRI is needed to clarify. Cirrhosis itself is mainly caused by diffuse fibrosis of the liver, the formation of pseudolobules and the appearance of regenerative nodules, so patients with cirrhosis are very prone to develop nodules.
