Keratomileusis – non-surgical correction and control of myopia

Children’s knowledge is growing, control myopia do not grow keratoplasty lenses – non-surgical correction and control of myopia. A. Introduction to keratoplasty lenses: Keratoplasty lenses are specially designed contact lenses that are worn at night to flatten the curvature of the central cornea and temporarily, non-surgically reduce myopia. During the day, it restores naked eye vision without glasses and effectively controls the progression of myopia in young people. Keratomileusis is a medical procedure that must be performed under the guidance of a physician. Second, the principle of keratomileusis: With frame glasses, the incident light is refocused on the retina in the central area of the cornea to improve vision, but in the mid-periphery is imaged in the back of the retina. With keratomileusis, myopia is corrected by changing the curvature of the central cornea, while the peripheral refractive error is changed in relative myopia. Because the retina has a tendency to move closer to the “imaging shell,” keratoplasty lenses slow the growth of the eye axis compared to frames. Studies have shown that they control the growth of the eye axis 46% slower than frames. The indications for keratomileusis: 1. no eye disease; 12mmHg < 21LHg; central corneal thickness > 0.4mm; pupil not too large. 2. 2. Refractive correction range of -0.50 to -6.00D; corneal astigmatism less than 1.75D; corneal curvature of 39D to 46D; -6.00D or more, astigmatism of 1.75D or more, corneal curvature too steep or too flat need to be considered at the discretion of an experienced physician. 3. Patients whose difference between flat K and desired reduction is greater than 36D. 4. Patients with good hygiene and sanitary habits, who follow the physician’s instruction, and who can follow the doctor’s prescription to review and change lenses on time. 4. Two stages of keratoplasty treatment: 1. Treatment period: (about 1 month) Personal experience and prescription of lenses after confirmation of effectiveness. This period allows the patient’s visual acuity or reduced prescription to reach the expected state. The physician closely tracks the patient’s prescription and adjusts the treatment plan in a timely manner (prescription method, length of time of wear, lens adjustment, increase of auxiliary medication, etc.). Patients should be reviewed on time and cooperate with the treatment according to the regulations and medical prescriptions. 2. Maintenance period: After the treatment period is completed, the orthodontic treatment enters the maintenance period. Patients are required to wear the lenses daily or adjust them appropriately as prescribed by the doctor. Patients will have monthly follow-ups, stop wearing the lenses in case of abnormalities, order antibiotic eye drops and contact their physician to come to the hospital in a timely manner.
