The average life expectancy of metastatic lung thyroid cancer is several years.

Patients with thyroid cancer who develop lung metastases usually indicate that the disease has reached an advanced stage, with a typical survival period of about one year. The exact survival time of each patient is related to many factors, such as the type of pathology, patient’s physical condition, and response to treatment. For example, papillary carcinoma with better differentiation type has a longer survival time for lung metastasis than undifferentiated thyroid cancer; while undifferentiated thyroid cancer, which is highly malignant, develops faster and has a poorer prognosis, and patients often only need 3-6 months from onset to death. Patients with thyroid cancer should pay attention to regular review and visit oncology and respiratory medicine when coughing, coughing and hemoptysis occur. At the same time, patients need to maintain a positive attitude and cooperate with doctors for treatment, and should not be pessimistic.
