Prevention methods for pediatric asthma

The overall prevalence of childhood asthma in China has been increasing significantly in recent years, which seriously affects the physical and mental health of children and also imposes a heavy mental and economic burden on families and society. 70% to 80% of childhood asthma develops before the age of 5 years, and 50% of childhood asthma develops before the age of 3 years, with the youngest being 3 months old. The prevalence is twice as high in boys as in girls during childhood, with no gender differences through adolescence. What can be done to prevent asthma attacks in children? Parents of children with asthma should first increase or decrease their children’s clothes according to the change of climate, and cover them well at night to prevent cold and flu; they should help their children to do some moderate physical exercise to strengthen their resistance to disease; and those who already have asthma should take some preventive measures as early as possible when the climate changes suddenly. As the disease is prone to recurrent attacks and delays, it often causes adverse psychological effects on the child. The main allergens of perennial patients are mostly indoors, and the measures include: 1. remove dust mite allergens in the house: wash bed sheets with hot water or sunshine regularly; use washable items for pillows and mattress pads, not straw or down; do not use carpets; use wooden or leather furniture. 2, away from fumes: perfume, paint, aerosols or other things with strong odor; fumes from oil smoke, cigarettes, burning firewood and paper, etc. 3.Do not keep pets. 4.Exterminate ants and cockroaches. The allergens of seasonal illnesses are mostly pollen and fungi. In the season of high pollen and fungi, close doors and windows and go out as little as possible; pay attention to climate change, in late winter and early spring or at the junction of summer and autumn, when the temperature changes a lot, pay attention to increase and decrease clothes at any time to prevent colds and respiratory infections. Avoid exertion, crying, laughing or shouting, and wear a mask when the temperature changes or air pollution is severe. Parents should actively help their children to build confidence in overcoming the disease and be more caring and considerate to make them emotionally stable and mentally happy. It is very important to discover allergens. While treating children for asthma, parents must look carefully to see what children are especially prone to rashes or wheezing after their usual exposure. Some are allergic to food such as eggs, shrimp, crab, fish, mangoes and peanuts, some are allergic to animal hair such as cats and dogs, some are allergic to dust mites and pollen, etc. In short, each person’s constitution is different and what they are allergic to is also different. Parents should be good at finding allergens in their lives and tell the doctor the information in time, which will help in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
