A. Surgery suture removal time
1, face and neck 4-5 days to remove stitches; lower abdomen, perineum 6-7 days; chest, upper abdomen, back, buttocks 7-9 days; limbs 10-12 days, near the joint can be extended some, reduce the tension suture 14 days before stitches can be removed.
2, eye bag surgery, facial scar removal surgery in 4-6 days after surgery to remove stitches.
3.Breast surgery is removed 7-10 days after surgery.
4.The sutures of joint parts and composite tissue free transplantation will be removed 10-14 days after surgery.
5. The sutures of blepharoplasty and wrinkle removal surgery are removed about 7 days after surgery.
Note: For special cases such as malnutrition and large tension in the incision, the stitch removal time can be considered appropriately extended. The removal time can be shortened for adolescents and delayed for the elderly, diabetics, and those with chronic diseases.
Second, surgical suture removal operation method
(A) Preparation
Sterile dressing change kit, 2 small forceps, suture removal scissors and sterile dressings, etc.
1.Take off the dressing on the incision and disinfect the skin with alcohol from the incision to the surrounding area once.
2.Lift the thread with tweezers, pull the buried thread out of the skin a little beyond the eye of the needle, cut it off with scissors at the place, and pull out the suture with tweezers to the side of the cut line.
3. Disinfect the skin again with alcohol and then cover with gauze and fix with adhesive tape.
(II) Indications
1, sterile surgical incision, local and systemic no abnormal performance, has come to the time of stitch removal, the incision healed well.
2, the wound has redness, swelling, heat, pain and other obvious infection after surgery, should be removed early.
(III) Contraindications
In case of the following conditions, the removal of sutures should be delayed.
1.Severe anemia, wasting, and mild cachexia.
2.Severe water loss or water-electrolyte disorder has not been corrected.
3.Older patients and infants.
4.When the cough is not controlled, the removal of stitches should be delayed for thoracic and abdominal incisions.
