What is vertigo? How is it treated?

Vertigo, the feeling of seeing things around you rotating or things not rotating while you sway and stand unsteadily during an attack …… dull and unconscious feeling in the mind, is not this kind of vertigo. 1, vertigo attacks are scary, but most vertigo is not a malignant disease like tumor or stroke, especially chronic vertigo. 2.Compared with other diseases, vertigo disorders have been recognized for a relatively short time, and some diseases are still unclear; some doctors are just slow to update and lack of relevant knowledge. 3.Migraine vertigo is common among vertigo, and this kind of disorder is closely related to migraine. The point here is that when migraine occurs, it must be endured, and early medication is recommended, especially for patients with frequent attacks, because the more powerful the headache attacks (frequency and degree) the greater the risk of future vertigo. As for the side effects of painkillers, they are often exaggerated by “rumors”, but most of them are safe and effective. 4, about “sleeping pills”: this includes about pure Valium such as Valium, Sulezade, etc., anti-anxiety such as alprazolam, Essiatepam, antidepressants such as fluoxetine, etc.. Some patients are worried about addiction, dependence, side effects, etc. In fact, it is safe and effective to apply according to the protocol, and these drugs help to improve sleep and mood condition, which is important in vertigo, especially chronic vertigo. Of course, it is recommended to use them under the guidance of physicians. 5. Vestibular rehabilitation training needs to be emphasized. Especially in such as vestibular neuritis and some chronic vertigo need to be emphasized. Mild episodes of dizziness during training are normal and need not be worried about; pay attention to gradual progress; start rehabilitation training one day earlier and return to normal life one day earlier. 6, chronic vertigo often has a long course, so don’t be greedy for quick treatment and hope that one or two treatments can relieve the problem for years or even decades, which also needs a slow process. There are some types such as Meniere’s disease where the purpose of treatment is to control the frequency and intensity of symptom attacks, and it is very difficult to achieve once and for all with one treatment or surgery. Therefore, it is also hoped that patients with chronic vertigo will build a sense of long-term struggle and eventually overcome vertigo together.
