What are the indications for microtia surgery and preparation for admission?

       Congenital microtia is a malformation of the external ear caused by dysplasia of the first and second gill arches and the original base of the temporal bone, often combined with upper and lower jaw hypoplasia and short hemifacial features.  Indications for surgery 1. Various congenital microtia; 2. Patients with congenital microtia should be over 6 years old and above 1.2m in height; 3. Other chronic diseases that are not contraindicated for surgery, such as hemophilia, systemic infection, schizophrenia, etc. Other diseases or factors affecting or hindering the surgery must be controlled or cured before surgery, such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, hematological disease, active tuberculosis and application of anticoagulants such as aspirin.       Preoperative preparation 1.Blood routine and liver and kidney function, infectious disease examination; 2.Chest X-ray (orthopantomogram): it can assist whether the rib cartilage is calcified and exclude lung disease; 3.Electrocardiogram: exclude heart disease that is contraindicated for surgery.  4.CT: non-conventional examination. Patients with bilateral microtia can clarify the development of the auditory chain and the cranial bone in the mastoid area before surgery, and provide imaging data for hearing reconstruction surgery.
