Cervical and lumbar spondylosis, as a common disease in modern life, is not only concentrated in the middle-aged and elderly, but also has become more and more widespread, and many young people and even teenagers are accidentally “hit”. According to the experts of Qingdao Ximin Orthopedic Hospital, there are some special symptoms of cervical spondylosis in the early stage of its onset, and if it can be detected and treated early, it plays an important role in preventing the occurrence and development of cervical spondylosis. The following are the main symptoms of cervical spondylosis “budding stage”: Difficulty in swallowing food Some middle-aged and old people sometimes feel itching in the throat, a foreign body feeling, difficulty in swallowing, intermittent attacks, sometimes light and sometimes heavy, the situation is most obvious when turning the head, accompanied by nausea, vomiting. In such cases, it is necessary to go to the hospital in time for examination. It is possible that the osteophytes are compressing the esophagus. According to clinical statistics in recent years, about 1.6% of cervical spondylosis patients have this performance. Hypertension Cervical spondylosis can cause blood pressure to rise or fall, but elevated blood pressure is more common, called cervical hypertension. This is related to the stimulation of sympathetic nerves by the bone. In this case, the patient is ineffective with antihypertensive drugs alone, and the blood pressure decreases on its own after treatment of cervical spondylosis. Chest pain If the hyperplastic bone compresses the nerve roots of the 6th and 7th cervical vertebrae, pain will be felt in the chest. At first, the pain is felt in one breast or pectoralis major muscle, intermittent vague pain or paroxysmal stabbing pain, most obvious when turning the head to one side, and sometimes the pain is unbearable. If this pain occurs on the left side, it is easily misdiagnosed as angina pectoris, and if it occurs on the right side, it is easily misdiagnosed as pleurisy, but the chest x-ray and ECG are normal, which is most likely caused by the cervical spine. Lower limb mobility or defecation disorder If the lateral bundle of the spinal cord is irritated, the patient will experience numbness, pain and weakness in the upper limbs and limping, and most of the neck symptoms are mild and easily masked. Some are accompanied by frequent urination, urinary urgency, incontinence or urinary and fecal incontinence. Visual impairment Cervical spondylosis may also manifest as vision loss, intermittent blurred vision, distention and pain in one or both eyes, photophobia, tearing, narrowing of the visual field, and in severe cases, blindness. This visual impairment is related to the plant nerve dysfunction caused by cervical spondylosis or ischemia in the visual center of the brain. Vision can be restored rapidly after the elimination of osteophytes, but blindness is not easily reversed. Sudden falls Sudden falls occur from time to time while walking and are caused by compression of the vertebral artery by the hyperplastic bone. Other symptoms include sudden collapse due to loss of body support when the head is suddenly twisted during walking, without coma, but mostly accompanied by severe vertigo or headache, nausea, vomiting, sweating, etc. This is also a common symptom of cervical spondylosis.
