The treatment of herpes zoster in the arm is not specific compared to the treatment of other areas and includes systemic application of antiviral drugs, nutritive neurologic drugs, and pain management.
Herpes zoster is an acute infectious skin disease caused by reactivation of varicella-zoster virus, which is usually accompanied by neuropathic pain in addition to characteristic skin manifestations.

Early antiviral and analgesic therapy is beneficial in relieving acute-phase pain, shortening the course of the disease, and preventing complications, but there are no specific drugs available. The incidence of shingles can be reduced by shingles vaccination.
