From a technical point of view prize, solving deafness is no longer a problem and is well established. For severe and very severe sensorineural deafness there is the option of cochlear (electronic) implants, which can give good results. The current cost of imported electronic cochlear implants is about 130,000 to 140,000 RMB, and if included in the insurance coverage for major diseases, the patient’s own burden is as low as 30,000 to 40,000 RMB. There are also free cochlear implants currently provided by the state for about 2,000 cases of children with congenital deafness (congenital deafness) each year, subject to registration and screening. Domestic cochlear implants have also been approved by the SFDA and are working well for adult transplants at a cost of about 70 to 80,000 RMB. For moderate to severe deafness with a hearing threshold of 70db, there are vibrating acoustic bridges or bone bridges that cost about 100,000 RMB; there are also bone anchored hearing aids (BAHA) that cost about 50,000 to 60,000 RMB and can provide almost normal hearing. There are various other implantable and semi-implantable hearing aids that can give patients good hearing.
