What are the differences in the number and frequency of maternity exams for older women?

If a senior woman has no medical comorbidities (e.g. hypertension, diabetes, etc.), the number and frequency of maternity examinations are the same as those for non-senior women, except that amniocentesis is required in the middle of pregnancy (18 weeks to 24 weeks) or cordocentesis is required after 24 weeks for fetal chromosome examination to rule out Down’s syndrome or other chromosomal abnormalities. If the advanced maternal age has medical comorbidities, two or even more departments will have to monitor the mother and child together under the guidance of the doctors in the relevant departments, and additional labor and delivery examinations will be required.
