How long does it take for a normal person to recover from Toxoplasma gondii infection?

Toxoplasma gondii is an opportunistic pathogenic parasite, and the self-healing time varies from person to person because of the differences in the amount of Toxoplasma infection and immunity. Toxoplasma gondii can be found in the nucleated cells of animals and humans. Usually, normal people who are infected with Toxoplasma gondii do not show symptoms, but only when their immunity decreases, such as swollen lymph nodes and fever. In some normal people, Toxoplasma gondii remains in the body after infection, and it is only when the immune system is further strengthened that Toxoplasma gondii can be cleared, which may take up to 6 months, and some patients may carry Toxoplasma gondii for life without treatment. If the amount of Toxoplasma gondii infection is large, symptoms will appear even if the immunity is normal, and it is impossible to heal by itself and treatment is needed. If Toxoplasma gondii infection is asymptomatic, treatment is generally not necessary. In daily life, we should pay more attention to rest and exercise to improve our immune system. However, women who are preparing for pregnancy must be treated for Toxoplasma gondii infection because it may cause fetal disease.
