It is not contagious, phagocytic syndrome can be triggered by infectious agents such as EBV, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Histoplasma capsulatum, Leishmania and other infectious agents, but phagocytic syndrome is not contagious and some specific agents (Histoplasma capsulatum, Leishmania) can achieve remission of phagocytic syndrome with pathogen-specific treatment.
