Double Eyelid and Eye Bag Surgery

Double eyelid (blepharoplasty): The eyes are a silent language, and the way they look and feel is the most subtle way to express one’s temperament and style. Single-lid surgery is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures because it exposes less of the cornea and less of the eyes. It includes the buried (pressed double eyelid), suture and incision methods. The resulting double eyelids are parallel, wide-tailed (also called open fan), and crescent-shaped. It is also possible to open the corners of the eyes (inner canthus opening, inner canthus correction). The specific method to be used is determined by the condition of the eyelids of the person, so that the eyelids are in harmony with the features, face shape, body shape and occupation. However, it is important to note that not all upper lid bloating is due to soft tissue hypertrophy, and patients with prolapsed tear ducts can have serious adverse consequences if the prolapsed tear ducts are mistakenly removed as hypertrophic fat in accordance with conventional blepharoplasty. Not everyone is suitable for double eyelids, and some people are beautiful with single eyelids. Eye bag surgery is due to aging of the soft tissue of the lower eyelid; muscle and orbital septum relaxation, fat bulging out of the orbital septum and downward movement; skin elastic fiber breakage and accumulation of wrinkles. The surgical methods are internal (internal incision) and external (external incision). The internal incision can only remove fat, not excess skin, so it is suitable for young people, while the external method can remove skin and fat at the same time, suitable for people with loose skin. New concept of eye bag treatment: Eye bag treatment is not only to remove the excess skin that has lost elasticity and remove the excess orbital fat, but more importantly, to place and fix the fat that has moved down, to tighten the orbital septum to enhance its supporting force; to shorten the muscle to improve its tension.
