Is there a vaccine for Ebola?

The Ebola vaccine ERVEBO (rVSV-ZEBOV) developed by Merck is highly protective against viral infection, according to large clinical trials conducted in Guinea and elsewhere, which have confirmed this.
In October 2019, ERVEBO was recommended for conditional marketing approval in Europe, and in December 2019, the US FDA approved the official marketing of ERVEBO for the prevention of Zaire-type Ebola infection in adults aged 18 years and older.
In addition, the Ad26.ZEBOV/MVA-BN vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson in the US and the Ad5 EBOV vaccine from the Beijing Institute of Biotechnology in China are still in clinical trials.
