Symptoms of Ebola virus disease vary in severity, with a rapid onset of fever, extreme weakness, muscle pain, headache and sore throat being typical in the early stages of the disease.
As the disease worsens, patients often experience vomiting and diarrhoea, skin rashes, impaired kidney and liver function, and in some cases internal and external bleeding.
