How long does it take to recover from acute myocarditis?

The recovery time from acute myocarditis depends largely on the severity of the cardiac invasion and whether treatment is timely and effective. For mild acute myocarditis, it can return to normal after 2 to 4 weeks, but strenuous exercise should be avoided after recovery and can be reviewed at 1 month and 3 months.
In a small number of patients, the condition may progress to chronic or persistent myocarditis and the recovery time may be prolonged. In the case of fulminant myocarditis, the rate of death can reach 80% in the acute phase, and the long-term prognosis for patients is better after passing the acute risk phase.
