If the baby’s startle reflex is too frequent, the following two possibilities should be noted: first, vitamin D deficiency rickets, babies are born in autumn and winter and have little outdoor activities, and are not given vitamin D supplements on time after birth, accompanied by night cries, excessive sweating, occipital baldness, square cranium and other symptoms, which will gradually improve after being given vitamin D and calcium supplements, as well as more outdoor activities and sun exposure. Second, brain injury syndrome, in addition to the obvious jumping reflex, often accompanied by breastfeeding difficulties, irritable crying or crying too little, too much or too little independent movement of the limbs, easy to tilt back the head, body jerking and other symptoms. If the mother has hyperemesis or diabetes during pregnancy, and the baby has a history of hypoxia or prematurity at birth, if she has any of the above manifestations and medical history, she should go to the hospital promptly and give the necessary early intervention treatment.
