Adolescent males can present with mild breast enlargement that spontaneously disappears after 1 to 2 years. Breast lumps in adult males are generally referred to as gynecomastia and are the result of liver lesions, adrenal disease, pituitary disease or the use of sex hormones. The primary disease is usually able to resolve once it is controlled, but a small percentage are malignant lesions.
