The systemic symptoms of chronic pharyngitis are not obvious, and the local symptoms are predominant. It is divided into chronic simple pharyngitis, chronic hypertrophic pharyngitis, atrophic pharyngitis and dry pharyngitis, with slightly different symptoms for different types. 1, chronic simple pharyngitis and chronic hypertrophic pharyngitis: both symptoms are similar, patients will have pharyngeal discomfort, such as foreign body sensation, itching, burning, dryness or irritation, slight pain; pharyngeal sensitivity, easy nausea; frequent irritating cough in the morning, no sputum or granular couscous-like secretions coughed up; inflammation involving the eustachian tube can appear tinnitus, hearing impairment and other symptoms, down to the involvement of the larynx can appear hoarseness. 2, atrophic pharyngitis and dry pharyngitis: dryness of the pharynx is its prominent symptom, at the same time there can be pharyngeal discomfort, dryness, foreign body sensation and dry cough; pharynx can form a dry crust, more serious in the morning; generally pain is not obvious; lesions involving the larynx can cause hoarseness, cough and other symptoms. In summary, the symptoms of chronic pharyngitis are mainly discomfort in the pharynx, such as dryness, itching, foreign body sensation in the pharynx, irritating cough in the morning, less often coughing up sputum, and atrophic pharyngitis patients can sometimes cough up smelly scabs.
