Infusion port placement process and precautions

Preparation before placement: Before placement, you need to go to a tertiary care hospital to check liver function, hepatitis B five items, HIV, coagulation four items, blood count and chest X-ray, etc. The blood count requires white blood cells > 3X109/L, platelets > 70X109/L and hemoglobin > 100g/L. Note: To avoid duplication of tests due to outdated test results, it is recommended to do blood tests first and then do chest X-ray when the index is normal. Bring the above test reports and the child’s family register or ID card to the sixth floor of New Century Children’s Hospital to get a hospital card and a medical card on the first floor, and then make an appointment at the nurse’s station on the sixth floor for surgical port placement. The child’s father or mother should bring the medical card and examination report (other people should also bring the child’s father or mother’s ID card and power of attorney) to the hospital in advance, pay the fee and sign the surgery informed consent form. Discharge medical advice: 3 days postoperative review and medication change, no need to remove the stitches; postoperative attention to protect the port of infusion from external impact; all courses of treatment should be removed as soon as possible.
