The family planning system is one of the characteristics of China, and many countries do not have birth certificates (previously called birth certificates). Chinese citizens need to have three certificates for IUI or IVF, namely ID card, marriage certificate and birth certificate. If a Chinese expatriate is unable to provide a birth certificate, how should he or she prepare the documents if he or she needs to do IUI or IVF? The Technical Specification for Assisted Human Reproduction clearly mentions that the institution must carefully check in advance the ID card of the infertile couple, the marriage certificate and the original fertility certificate in accordance with the national population and family planning regulations and rules, and keep a copy of it for record; couples in foreign marriages and foreigners should present their passports and marriage certificates and keep a copy of them for record.
