How to properly treat fibroadenoma of the breast

Fibroadenoma of the breast is a benign tumor that occurs in the fibrous tissue and glandular epithelium in the lobules of the breast. It can occur at any age after puberty, but is more common in young women aged 18-25. It is round or ovoid with clear border, smooth surface and moderate hardness, mostly without pressure pain and can be pushed freely. The tumor grows slowly and has no other symptoms. Fibroadenoma is not related to breast cancer and has a low malignancy rate. However, during pregnancy, fibroadenoma can suddenly grow and become sarcoma, and the risk of malignant transformation increases in women over 40 years old, especially during and after menopause. The effect of drugs on fibroadenoma of the breast seems to be minimal at this time, and surgery is the only proven method of treating this benign tumor. Young patients with breast fibroids must be highly vigilant and visit the hospital every six months to prevent the condition from deteriorating. Multiple breast fibroadenomas are those with more than 2 fibroadenomas in the breast area, and they occur in about 15% of cases. Because multiple fibroadenomas can be close to each other and fuse with each other, they can also be scattered on one or both sides, so it is difficult to remove them all. Therefore, for those multiple adenomas that are not too large, clinical treatment with Chinese herbal medicine can be given; for those that are larger than 2 cm in size, they can be considered for excision, while those that are smaller in size can continue to be monitored.
