Does sciatica heal on its own?

In other words, mild sciatica nerve compression, such as a mild lumbar disc herniation, only causes an inflammatory reaction and does not lead to rupture of the annulus fibrosus, so the impact on the sciatic nerve is relatively small. By resting in bed, improving lifestyle and adjusting posture, if the nerve is released, the pain will be relieved on its own. However, if the lumbar disc herniation is serious and causes the rupture of the annulus fibrosus or the existence of limb function restriction, the possibility of self-healing is not too great, further examination should be conducted to determine the specific causes, and according to the results of the examination, the most effective methods should be formulated, such as drug control, acupuncture and massage treatment and other conservative treatment measures. If the above conservative treatment measures are not effective, surgical treatment should also be considered. Sciatica should be treated with a combination of hormonal vitamins and symptomatic treatment. The patient should also consider post-rehabilitation and other effective treatment methods, pay attention to the protection of the lumbar region, and in the case of sciatica, appropriate pain medication can be used, and mild cases can be observed first.
