Watch out for two misconceptions

Myth 1: “Vaginal irrigation” is good for health. There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that “vaginal irrigation is the only way to avoid vaginal infections and that frequent douching is necessary to promote healing after vaginal infections”. On the contrary, vaginal irrigation increases the chances of gynecological infections. The main measures to prevent and treat vaginal infections are to avoid bathing, disinfecting underwear and avoiding contact with public toilet seats. Myth 2: “Celiac disease” is a disease that can cause cervical cancer. In fact, celiac disease is not a disease. It is expressed in gynecology as “the cervical lining moves out and becomes erosive”, which is commonly referred to as a manifestation that “looks as if it is erosive” and usually does not need to be treated excessively. Chronic cervicitis is mainly manifested as cervical hypertrophy, cervical glandular cysts or cervical polyps. Cervical erosion is not the same as chronic cervicitis, and it is not the same as cervical cancer.
