How to cure toenail fungus

Nail fungus is a fungal infection of the nail plate, commonly known as gray nails. When nail fungus is more serious, it can lead to the destruction of the entire nail. Treatment is recommended to be based on oral medication, and the options are terbinafine tablets, usually 250 mg taken orally once a day for about three months, and itraconazole intermittent shock therapy for toenails, which requires 3-4 courses of treatment. These two drugs have a high cure rate as the concentration persists in the nail plate even after discontinuation. For more superficial or mild nail damage, topical medications, such as amorolfine application, are also an option. However, for entire nail plate involvement and multiple nail involvement, oral medications are preferred.
