How to differentiate between bronchopneumonia cough and allergic cough

Bronchopneumonia cough and allergic cough can be distinguished by clinical manifestations, imaging tests, and serum IgE levels.
1. Bronchopneumonia cough is usually dry cough in the early stage, increased cough and sputum in the recovery stage, and the color of sputum is mostly yellowish or white. And most of them have fever, shortness of breath, dyspnea and other symptoms. Allergic cough is usually characterized by a prolonged and persistent dry cough, which may be accompanied by a foreign body sensation or itching in the throat, and aggravated by exercise, inhalation of cold air and contact with allergens.
2. Chest X-ray of patients with bronchopneumonia in general shows scattered speckled shadows in both lungs, thickening of lung texture, blurred edges of the lungs, uneven density, and larger flaky shadows may also be found. In contrast, chest X-ray examination of patients with allergic cough often suggests that there is no abnormality.
3. Bronchopneumonia cough and allergic cough can also be distinguished by the serum IgE, if suffering from allergic cough, the patient’s serum IgE level is often significantly higher than normal, so coughing in the serum IgE content is often suggestive of allergic cough.
If symptoms such as coughing occur, it is important to consult a doctor in a timely manner, under the guidance of a professional physician treatment.
