There is no fastest way to treat bronchopneumonia in children. Doctors will adopt comprehensive treatment measures according to the condition of the children, such as general treatment and medication.
1. General treatment: keep the indoor air circulating, give nutritious diet, if the child is seriously ill and has difficulty in eating, give parenteral nutrition. Pay attention to isolation to prevent cross-infection.
2. Anti-infection treatment
(1) Antibacterial drug treatment: If it is clear that bacterial infection or viral infection is secondary to bacterial infection, antibacterial drugs such as penicillin, amoxicillin, ceftriaxone can be used in accordance with medical advice.
(2) Antiviral therapy: If the infection is influenza virus, oseltamivir phosphate can be used orally.
3. Symptomatic treatment
(1) Oxygen therapy: when there are hypoxia manifestations, such as irritability, cyanosis or arterial oxygen partial pressure <60mmHg, oxygen should be inhaled, and nasal vestibular catheter should be used to give oxygen. Neonates or infants can be given oxygen by mask, oxygen tent or nasal plug.
(2) Airway management: timely removal of nasal crusts, nasal secretions and sputum suction to keep the airway open and improve ventilation.
(3) Antipyretic treatment: Those with high fever (body temperature > 38.5 ℃) can be given medication to lower the temperature, such as oral acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
If the child is diagnosed with bronchopneumonia should follow the doctor’s instructions standardized treatment, do not self-medication.
