Infectious diseases that can produce pyrogens can be initially ruled out in the absence of fever, but headaches with cold sweats can be seen in a variety of other conditions, commonly in neurological disorders such as Meniere’s disease and migraine attacks with systemic diseases that may affect brain function such as hypoglycaemia, pheochromocytoma and organophosphorus poisoning.
In addition, excessive mental stress, tension and overexertion can trigger headaches as well as autonomic symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, pallor and cold sweats.
