The use of medication for painful haemorrhoids is divided into three main situations.
One, the relief of symptoms with the help of pain medication and drugs that improve microcirculation and reduce the patient’s discomfort.
Secondly, the application of topical creams to reduce oedema, relieve pain and prevent bleeding.
Thirdly, injecting sclerosing agents into the haemorrhoid to promote tissue fibrosis and encourage shrinkage of the haemorrhoid.
