Why do you have middle ear infections?

Otitis media is categorized into acute suppurative otitis media, chronic suppurative otitis media, secretory otitis media, etc. It is caused by bacterial infection, obstruction of Eustachian tube and other factors.
1. Acute suppurative otitis media: acute otitis media is an infectious disease, mainly caused by acute bacterial infection. Due to bacterial infection through the Eustachian tube route or blood route, the causative organisms of acute otitis media mainly include Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Streptococcus b hemolyticus, and so on.
2. Chronic suppurative otitis media: Suppurative otitis media is caused by bacterial infection, and may also be caused by lesions in neighboring organs, decreased immunity of the patient’s body, and poor mastoid pneumatization.
3. Secretory otitis media: The etiology of secretory otitis media is complex and is related to a variety of factors, including obstruction of the Eustachian tube, bacterial or viral infection and other pathogens. In addition, it may also be caused by immune response, gastroesophageal reflux, misalignment of teeth and many other factors.
Patients with otitis media should go to the hospital for timely examination to clarify the specific disease and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
