How long can small cell lung cancer live without metastasis?

Early stage small cell lung cancer survival is usually 3-5 years. Intermediate stage small cell lung cancer survival is usually 1-2 years. The specific survival period varies from person to person. Small cell lung cancer is relatively malignant and prone to early distant metastasis, such as brain metastasis, bone metastasis as well as intrapulmonary metastasis. Often when small cell lung cancer is found, metastasis may have already occurred. If no metastasis is found, it means it is in the early or middle stage. After receiving standardized treatment, the survival time for early-stage small cell lung cancer is usually 3-5 years, and the survival time for intermediate-stage small cell lung cancer is usually 1-2 years. Except for stage Ia small cell lung cancer which can be considered for surgery, the main treatment for most small cell lung cancers is radiotherapy, including simultaneous radiotherapy and chemotherapy followed by supplemental radiotherapy, which is mainly based on the patient’s disease stage. It is recommended that patients should go to the hospital as early as possible to receive standardized treatment and prolong the survival period.
