Painful otitis media should be treated differently according to the different stages of the disease. Divided into tympanic membrane perforation before, tympanic membrane perforation after, generally use ear drops and other medications to remove the cause of the disease, in order to quickly stop the pain.
1. Before tympanic membrane perforation: 1% phenol glycerin ear drops can be used to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. If necessary, you can follow the doctor’s instructions for the application of nasal mucosa decongestant nasal drops to improve the patency of the Eustachian tube, reduce inflammation, generally no more than 7 days of continuous application, high blood pressure patients, pregnant women and other contraindications. If there is more fluid in the middle ear, tympanocentesis can be performed by the doctor under aseptic operation.
2. After tympanic membrane perforation: first use 3% hydrogen peroxide solution to clean the pus in the external ear canal, or the doctor will use suction to suck out the pus. At the same time, antibiotic solution such as ofloxacin ear drops should be put into the ear, and it is forbidden to use it for patients with drug allergy history. The use of powders is prohibited to avoid mixing with the pus and clumping to interfere with drainage.
