Can syphilis be transmitted through kissing?

Syphilis may be transmitted through kissing, but the chances are small. Its main modes of transmission are sexual, blood and mother-to-child.
Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease caused by infection with the syphilis spirochete. Since saliva contains syphilis spirochetes, syphilis can be transmitted through saliva, so syphilis can be transmitted through kissing, but the possibility is relatively small compared to other ways of transmission.
In addition, if there is a wound in the mouth of both parties, the chance of infection increases when a healthy person kisses a person infected with syphilis, mainly because there may be bleeding from the wound, and the blood carriers of syphilis spirochetes are higher, which makes syphilis more likely to be transmitted through the bloodstream.
If a person is diagnosed with syphilis, he or she should actively cooperate with the doctor for standardized treatment.
