Rectal polyps need to be bed rested for about 5 days after they are cut out. After the rectal polyp is cut off, the patient may be fasted for 1~3 days, after which a small amount of fluids can be taken by mouth, such as rice soup, milk, rotten noodles, porridge, etc., and then slowly transition to a semi-liquid and then to an ordinary diet for two weeks after the operation, to keep the bowel movement, and to avoid excessive physical activities for one week.
