What is diabetes?

Diabetes registration should be with an endocrinologist.
Diabetes mellitus is an endocrine disease, a group of metabolic disorders characterized by chronically elevated blood glucose levels. Typical symptoms of diabetes are excessive drinking, excessive urination, excessive eating, and weight loss, but in the early stages of the disease patients are usually asymptomatic.
Upon consultation, the endocrinologist will take the patient’s medical history, such as usual dietary habits, time of symptoms and manifestations, etc. Fasting blood sugar, glycosylated hemoglobin, and urinary glucose will also be tested. The doctor will determine whether the patient is diabetic based on the patient’s clinical manifestations, test results, etc. After the diagnosis is confirmed, diabetes typing will be performed, and complications will be screened.
If diabetes is suspected, endocrinology can be consulted for further clarification.
