What to do about osteoarthritis of the knee in old age

Elderly knee osteoarthritis should be treated with a combination of health education and weight management, medication and surgery.
1. Health education and weight management: weight management should be carried out with BMI between 18-24. Exercise rehabilitation including leg lifting, swimming and brisk walking should be carried out 2-3 times a week, but exercises that wear out the knees such as hiking and stair climbing are not allowed.
2. Medication: For more sensitive muscle soreness, ice can be applied to the painful area, and if necessary, oral celecoxib, sodium rosoprofen or ibuprofen can be taken for pain relief.
3. Surgical treatment: For more serious osteoarthritis of the knee, surgical treatment needs to be considered, including minimally invasive arthroscopic knee joint cleaning and artificial joint replacement surgery.
It is recommended to consult a doctor to clarify the cause of the disease, and specific medication should be under the guidance of a physician.
